A joint statement from the Housing Minister Lee Rowley and the Director of Building Safety for the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) Philip White at the GB Health and Safety Executive (HSE) addresses the creation of safety case reports and associated challenges with managing safety in buildings over 18 metres.

It highlights several issues relating to excessive costs being quoted and charged for work to develop the safety case and safety case report. It also reminds building managers that, by law, service charges must be reasonable and leaseholders should be able to understand what they are being charged for and why. It reiterates to building managers that the scope of the safety case and safety case report should not cover issues unrelated to the spread of fire and structural failure.
