CABE Board Elections: results announced

The newest additions to the CABE Board were announced during the Association’s AGM on Saturday 8 February 2025.
CABE President Richard Flynn was pleased to reveal the following will join the Board as of June 2025:
- Veronica Fiore FCABE C.Build E IEng – Vice-President
- Maria Caulfield FCABE C.Build E IEng – Ordinary Board Member
- Dominic Workman FCABE C.Build E IEng – Ordinary Board Member
CABE congratulates Veronica, Maria and Dominic and looks forward to welcoming them officially to the CABE Board in the summer.
Get to know your new Board Members
Veronica Fiore FCABE C.Build E IEng
Currently employed as Associate Director at Hunters, Veronica is professionally qualified as FCABE Chartered Building Engineer, Incorporated Engineer, a Class 3-registered building inspector and Associate Member of RICS. She has 20 years of experience in the residential, industrial, commercial, institutional and environmental sectors, and for the past seven years, has been focusing upon complicated engineering proposals on London-based projects.
In addition, Veronica is a member of the Women in Science and Engineering. She presents the UK model in technical tables with Italy and the European Parliament, has spoken and presented at international conferences and lectured in building pathology in 2023 and 2024. Veronica is also a Mental Health First Aider.
As well as serving on the CABE Board since 2022, Veronica has been a member of the MPSC since its inception in 2019, of which she is extremely proud.
Veronica strongly believes in the importance of supporting colleagues and professionals from different backgrounds and is passionate about being able to support CABE in shaping the future of the industry and professional membership.
Maria Caulfield FCABE C.Build E IEng
Maria is Commercial Director at Stroma Building Control and has been working in the building control sector for over 20 years. Over the course of her career, Maria has worked on a wide range of projects, from large-scale commercial developments to residential buildings, collaborating with various stakeholders and contributing to cross-disciplinary team discussions.
Maria is an advocate for raising the standards of professionalism within the building construction industry, with CABE’s dedication to setting high standards for competence and ethical practice aligning with her own values. As a CABE Board member, Maria is looking to bring a strong focus on improving diversity in the field, championing greater education and providing clear guidance on significant legislative changes. She is passionate about developing greater collaboration between engineers, architects, contractors, and policymakers to ensure that we continue to confidently raise the standard of the built environment.
Maria is looking forward to contributing to policy development and initiatives to drive innovation and maintain the expected high standards in construction through CABE.
Dominic Workman FCABE C.Build E IEng
Dominic is presently employed as a Technical Director at a building safety consultancy after transitioning from a career as a building regulations professional. Currently, he is responsible for strategic implementation and collaboration with key stakeholders, seeking to provide exceptional service.
Over the years, Dominic has engaged with a variety of complex, stimulating projects, all significantly enhancing his experience and technical expertise. He has complemented his practical knowledge with academic credentials, holding a BSC (Hons) in Building Surveying and an MSc in Technical Architecture.
Recently, Dominic supported CABE by participating in membership panel assessments and will continue to support with CBICAS interviews. In his role as a CABE Board member, he wishes to emphasise the importance of raising standards and increasing awareness, believing that sharing knowledge and experiences is essential to the advancement of the construction sector.
Dominic takes pride in having a collaborative, honest and transparent approach, always valuing equality. He wishes to introduce a fresh, progressive perspective to the Board which will complement the efforts of other members to further the Association’s mission.
